Class Information

Tools: You can bring your own tools or just use ours.(you may want to bring paper and pen for notes and to copy patterns of chair you are taking the class for)

Duration: We are for the most part work at your own pace. Class will cover the full construction of a chair, but painting is not covered by the class(you can ask Caron for a milk painting class, it lasts 2-3 days). Chair legs will be turned by us prior to class starting.

Hours: We open our doors at 8:00 AM. however, classes do not start until 9:00 AM. Lunch break is 1 hour long at around noon. At 5:00 PM classes conclude.

• Day 1 - Split out the green wood for spindles, arms, back, crest rail and bend the parts requiring it. From there glue up seat blanks if necessary else start making spindles.
  
  
• Day 2 - finish spindle carving then begin preparing the seat for carving (layout, drilling and reaming).
  
  
• Day 3 - Carve the seat and start on arms,bows,crests, etc(drilling and reaming). Begin assembly!
  
  
• Day 4 - Continue assembly of legs to seat and arms to seat. Get comfortable and begin fitting spindles.
  
  
• Day 5 - Final fitting and final assembly.

*(due to a limited vises available, 50% of the class tuition is required to lock a guaranteed class vise on date of class. the date can be changed with a month notice in advance or for a emergency once. no refund for classes canceled within a week of the start of the class. all classes must be scheduled atleast 2 weeks in advance.)

**(Stool classes must be scheduled a week in advance. class will last one day and you will finish with a completed stool with exception of the painting of it)

***(Sack Back is the prerequisite prior to taking other chair classes in order to make you familiar with the tools. Only the stool class and new york side class may be taken without this class)
